Bizmarkie thought I might be snacking on dragons by now... he is correct and I'll make sure to post a picture of that in the not to distant future. For now I will just make this short admission... I'm closing in on lvl 60 (for some stupid reason I'm not allowed to pass Lindalas or I'd been 60 weeks ago). Below is a picture taken just after Lind hit the big 6-0. As you can see he was, as always, to focused on himself to worry about me and I haven't had anything to eat in ages ... skeleton bones may be good enough for dogs but I demand higher quality food!

So where are we? On the Mug'thol server in the game that cannot be named.

I like the fact that Lind enjoys watching fireworks. Hunting FVB unpolied with his toothpick gives me a great opportunity to get some nice and safe xp (not to mention a bzel the other day). Well, I'm not the only one getting XP these days. Last night we met ElvanEscence on the beach for her last few mops on lvl 58. You go girl!! Now show Lind how it's done and get yourself to 60!!!

Chork is catching up!!!

Over the past six months it has been apparent that Chork would eventually catch up to my monkey. I guess I should help Lind, but since that would come at the expense of my own leveling all I can say is... Go Chork, Go!

For Chork's level up I told Lind to use his new lance to hunt with since it provides appropriate fireworks. That started a trend and we soon had four EBO Lancers running amok on FV Beach. Don't tell Lind this, but the best part about this is that I get all the XP since he hardly scratches the mop. Go Lind, Go!!

Lindalas has spent far too much time hunting without me ... of course he was going to level first ... pffft!!! At least he didn't get a very good level up this time, only 7/3. I do hope that that extra point in ER will help him take less hits so that I don't have to protect him all the time. I frequenly wish I could use my chill touch to heal him, he needs it! Pictures? Shortly after the servers came back up today there was a buzz on global. Some players were asking "What is a Diamond Sword?". The common response was "Don't even think about that Doomblade, just ID it ;-)". The people asking about the Diamond Sword persisted and claimed it had just showed up in their inventory after the reset. Well, your humble fuzzy servant got hold of one of these rare items...

Lind's level 10 prince tried to equip the sword with the following result:

The only unanswered question... can it be enchanted? (and is it one or two handed).

--- not surprisingly, this was an NC slip up and they promptly removed the swords. With some luck we'll see them again in the next episode (someone suggested they were the reward for an upcoming quest.

EBO Cruise

Mr. Flannel already reported on the EBO hunt in Abyss Lake they did last week. Obviously I stayed away from that one... I hate getting my fur wet. For the same reason I stay away from boats and wasn't there to lend a little extra flair to the picture below. However, I did find it amusing enough to post anyway.

Alright, excessive computer use will cause that and I guess we play Lineage at our own risk. However, when the game designers and programmers exacerbates the problem by being stupid I have a real problem. My current pet peeve is the implementation of the compensation from DE badges. First compare to the Tribal Orc totems that lyra gives you cash for. Doesn't that sound EXACTLY like the cash compensation we get from DE Badges? There is no variability in the results like with the gem gambling pouches. Nor does adena weigh anything so you don't have to use an intermediate container to keep weight down.

I just came back up to the surface after a few days in the great cavern and traded in over 600 regular badges (and maybe 30 general badges). I then had to spend 5-10 minutes clicking on the stack of "compensations" to get the money. This is STUPID!!!!!!!!!

As you know by now I've spent some time guiding Lind around in the great cavern below Diad castle. While the various monsters down there love to attack me I take that in stride. I guess it is just a sign of their above average intelligence that they try to take out the most dangerous opponent first! Well, we've ripped their shirts off their backs (as well as their robes)...

I have told Lind that if he is to spend time hunting pirates without me I should at least get a present. Well, yesterday, with help from Chork and Eboo who supplied a few missing platinum pieces, I finally convinced Lindalas that my gold fangs were losing their luster and needed upgrading.

If the monsters feared my breath before they'll truly tremble now!

I know it has been a really long time since I posted... the reason is that Lindalas was getting upset of the world always centering around me and everyone ignoring him. Humoring him I let him hunt by himself a bit... needless to say he came crawling back asking me to hunt with him.

Since Diad was open earlier this week I asked him go go down and meet me in Resistance Village (he had a hard time getting there, but that was his punishment for ignoring me so long). Finally we set out to beat up on the denizens of the Great Cavern.

Just to prove that hunting with me was the right decision I brought him these after only 15 minutes of hunting.

NC, isn't it time you nerfed the rabbits? They are taking over the server! To add insult to injury Wascal caught up to me yesterday... well at least he is now the same level as me. I DON'T LIKE I!! At this rate he might even pass me some day.

Now that I got that rant out of my system. Grats Wascal! I hope you enjoy riding on my coat tails but now you'll have to start pulling your own weight. Oh, and grats to breaking the 400hp/300mp barrier. I know you were looking forward to that.

And just in case anyone still doubts it... the rabbit is only the sideshow here!

There has been a lot of speculation, both in game and on the boards, about the new pet whose collar dropped a few times from the easter eggs. The wait is over. I spotted KIDD5 with a this new addition yesterday. Those that guessed Raptor Rooster and Chaotic Chicken were almost right!

Btw, I also want to post a belated grats to Cainna and Lucky. However, since they had the poor taste of having their wedding on FI I could not attend and therefore have no pictures to post (Lind does, but I doubt I'll give him access to the computer).

By borrowing a few items from friends I managed to let Lind try out a Sayha and a Vigor set together. Why together? He is only a weak dex elf and claims he can't hunt properly without his o-belt. Well, the sayha relieved him of the need to carry thousands of arrows. You all know I hate to admit this, but with the Sayha he's almost useful out there. You can't believe how fast the mops were dying around us. Too bad these are only loaners...

Just to reiterate the obvious, no one really cares about Lind.

That said, I do find him marginally amusing at times. He just can't help trying his (not-so-)wise-cracks on global.

As always, the first question is... what were the best drops. Well a mage I know got a con elixir. Apart from that the drops people are talking about are the vigor items (ring, ammy and belt). It seems like each item, on their own, give +1hp regen... pretty lame. However, worn together you have a set few people would say no to (except Lindalas who is too weak to live without his obelt). Check this link to see Stacee's description of the set.

After testing myself I found one difference from Stacee's writeup. The set does not provide any increased carrying capacity.

This event is crazy! I've decided to stay by the fireplace and let Lindalas and Papageno run around looking for eggs (and foxes). Wascal heard about Lind's new costume and came out to see what the fuzz was about... I guess he realized that it was just a pretty suit and came back inside (he is sitting right beside me as I'm writing this).

Apart from playing with eggs and foxes Lind also paid a visit to LOA... that place is just a tad bit nutty but he claims to have found some old friends there (well at least one... LadyAlek [edit]... he later ran into Trinie too[edit]). They seem to be in dire needs of some crowd control over there!

I might report on Lind's extraordinarily unimpressive exploits later this week, but don't count on me doing any hunting until this madness is over.

Lindalas: What are all those shortcuts for?

I think Helly was tired of reporting on boring hunts for DEs and wind tears so she gave me access to the keyboard tonight. Since I'm just as bored with the DEs as she is I figured I'd touch on another subject I've been considering for a while... the use of F-keys. This is how I use them...

I've recently made some changes but my basic setup is the following F1 (pane 1) is for hunting. I do make some changes depending on where I am (subsitute in a cyan or cure spell if I'm hunting medusas etc.). What does not change is c-clears on F7, Random tele on F8 (I use elven "rotc" so it gives me quick access to moving around. More importanly, when I'm in ant caves or IT5 I disable the elven tele and use random tele to skip around. This is particularly important on IT5 with pets). The bottom row has Tripple Arrow, GHeal, B2S and Escape. TA is the new addition there and I've found it to be extremely useful, both when I have pets being hit by something like an astagio or egg or when I'm fighting a tougher mop like iffy (and either have plenty of pots or someone else taking most of the damage :).

Pane 2 (F2) is my boss buffing pane. On that pane I can quickly cast my various MR spells, pop a wafer and a blue and switch to ori arrows. I know Chance talked about swithing back to silver using a short cut... I might try that next time I'm on FI.

The last page is my regular buffing page. I like the fact that I can do all my buffing without pulling up the full spell list. I used to have storm shot on the first pane since I use that every time I run into another bow user. Now I might skip buffing some peeps I meet, but I needed the space on pane 1 for 3Arrow.

My advice is free and worth every penny!

This weekend my old friend (and potential dinner) Hamster got married (again?). I'm starting to think that he is choosing wives based on the taglines I can provide. First we had Ham'n Ag (pronounced egg)... not bad but a bit too obvious. Now he married a real dog! You don't believe me? Judge for yourself... I present to you Spud Mackenzie.

Losus Botter

For the last few days Losus has had a new resident: Skei. There is absolutely no doubt at all that this is a bot. This is the program logic.

When alligator is on screen... run and attack.
If no alligator in screen, wait
Attack ONLY alligators (if you pine him he'll pump pots but not fight back)

I reported this to a Monitor yesterday but today SKei is still there. Now the next interesting question. How in HELL does a bot get into Delta? Is Delta promoting botting or is this a mistake? I hope the royal (can't remember who that is) cleans up his/her pledge pronto!!!

So Lind got another point in Dex... how does that help me? He is lame! He shouldn't worry about his experience he should be on the beach tagging mops for me to kill so that I could level faster. Maybe 53 got the bug out of his system so that we can get down to business!

At least there were a lot fewer people congratulating Lind than there was congratulating me when I hit 47. I guess Ken still has some sane people on it.

I have never gotten a wind tear (nor has Lind) and they certainly seem rare enough. Well, I guess it was bound to happen and we've been hunting DEs every now and then to try to help EE and C2. It finally paid off. Now we just have to repeat the exercise 22 more times or so.

Late in the fall of 2004 myself and Lindalas left Wascal in the then Pledge House of EBO. I wasn't gone for more than 20 minutes, but I guess a rabbit is always a rabbit.

While I feared this mistake would have dire consequences for the land of Aden, any bunny plague failed to materialize... until now.

Killer rabbits, both evolved and regular, are everywhere. This is particularly true for FV.

Someone call the exterminators!! Iffy, come here!!!
